Just chillin' out

Not really much to say about this post. I just fancied a chilled out beach ride, before I headed back to work for a few weeks. Weather was lovely, as NE Scotland was having a mini heatwave for the time of year & the setting sun provided great lighting for the photos. Can this officially mark the start of spring? If so, where did winter go?

There is a problem around the coastal areas to the East of lossie at the moment. There are some kids ripping through the dunes & coastal paths with MX bikes & causing some real damage to the fragile trails as seen here.

Love it!

There were hundreds of these guys out tin the forest tonight on the way home. Pretty difficult to steer round them all with 4" tyres!

2012 - The story so far.....

Yep, not been posting much again. My days have been pretty full since Lucy arrived & the Christmas holidays, but the riding hasn't stopped!
Here is a collection of photos taken this year on various rides & general good times!

The fatbike is great for taking Daniel offroad. The large volume tyre & low pressure makes for a comfortable ride for my passenger & the long wheelbase make for a really stable ride at low speeds.

Getting ready to hit the local trails

Alien water bottle wood look great on a moonlander

I have been trying to rekindle the love for the 26" wheel again. This was the first outing on the rebuilt Ragley Bluepig. After spending so long riding Fat, it felt very strange on a small wheeler again. I have finally dialled the bike to my riding style & rides really nice now. Bike of choice for trail centres etc...

The cold, clear winter weather has been excellent riding conditions around my local area & giving the opportunity for some great photos & even better rides.

Crispy river ice

Ice as far as the eye can see...awesome riding

Chester obviously doesn't feel the cold

Winter shadows with my trail buddy

Some cool graffiti on the coastal defence buildings

No place like home!

That says it all really!

I joined my local mountain bike club on one of their family days. It was a great day out & nice to meet some new friends. We did a route along the coastal trails in Roseisle forest, which was perfect for the youngsters in the group.
I opted to cycle out from Lossiemouth to add some trail miles to the day & of course, cover as much of the coast as possible during the day!

Early start from home, catching the sunrise

Sheet ice all along the beach. It made for some comedy tank slappers!

Some members of Moray Mountain Bike Club - Nice to meet you all :o)

Predictably, taking the long way home at the end of a great 50K ride

Nice riding

Gotta love this clip! Some nice ridge riding going on there!

And, who says wide tyres don't cause trail damage!

It's been a while

Yes, it has been a while since I have been on here....because I am a Daddy again!
Our baby daughter, Lucy, decided it was time to make a slightly early arrival, so riding time is limited for the moment! Both mum & baby are doing well.....an early Christmas present ;o)

Awwwwh!

It has been a good, but busy couple of week getting settled into the routine again. Most of my riding lately has been done at night, but I did manage to get out for a couple of hours in the daylight last week to enjoy the first snow of the winter.
The snow didn't last for long, but it did give me the opportunity to play around with tyre pressures & try the bike out in winter conditions for the first time.

Beach riding & snow...perfect fatbike conditions
Beautifully calm winter's day with empty beach & trails
Just enough snow to have a bit of fun!
Trails in great condition for riding
Like fatbike school...these are a set of trails through the forest & sand dunes, very soft

That's what I'm talking about....what better way to relax than on the bike

2021: Rebrand and Relaunch

After several years of Moray Fat Bike being clinically dead, the time has come to finally resurrect this blog, however it is also time for ...
